“I’m a Team Player” – Senator David Perdue Grand Jury Testimony Claims Gov. Brian Kemp Stopped 2020 Election Investigation

Last month, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee lifted the protective order shielding the special grand jury transcripts used to indict former President Donald Trump and his co-defendants in Georgia.

Among the newly unsealed documents was the testimony of former U.S. Senator David Perdue — a key candidate in the 2020 election who was forced into a January 5, 2021, runoff against Democrat Jon Ossoff after winning the November 3 election by 90,000 votes, but falling short of the fifty percent threshold necessary.

On September 6, 2022, Perdue appeared before the special grand jury for questioning. One of his interrogators was none other than disgraced prosecutor Nathan Wade — the same man later exposed for his affair with District Attorney Fani Willis.

Wade pressed Perdue on one of Georgia’s most contentious election-night controversies: the events at State Farm Arena. “You’re talking about State Farm Arena and the things that happened in that video, I’m assuming,” Wade said. “Since then, the Secretary of State’s Office, the GBI — multiple investigations — have looked into that and found that nothing illegal occurred.”

Perdue seemed unmoved: “That’s your opinion,” he fired back. “That’s not fact.”

Wade shot back and asked if Perdue at least acknowledged that the GBI had looked into the matter.

His answer was cautious but cutting: “Those so-called investigations… occurred,” he said, “but not to my satisfaction.”

Then came a shocking admission. When asked by Wade why he doubted the GBI’s integrity, Perdue dropped a bombshell.

“In November of ’21,” he testified, “the head of the GBI, Vic Reynolds, called me — it’s a matter of record. He told me, ‘We’re not going to investigate. The governor wants me to tell you why we’re not going to investigate.’ I said, ‘Please do.’ Because back in May, he had seen the evidence — video footage, cell phone records, testimony, bank data — all consistent with ballot harvesting. He told me himself it was compelling to be investigated.  That was in May of 2021.”

Perdue paused before revealing the rest. “Then, in November, he calls and says, ‘We’re not going to investigate because…I’m a team player. If the governor doesn’t want to investigate, we’re not going to investigate.’”

Testimony discussing allegations of ballot harvesting and the refusal to investigate by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation in November 2022.

Just one month prior to the special grand jury testimony, Vic Reynolds was appointed to serve as a Superior Court judge in Cobb County by Governor Brian Kemp.

The evidence was presented to Vic Reynolds in May 2021 by True The Vote.  The Gateway Pundit previously reported that when the GBI declined to investigate, they sent a letter to True The Vote and to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.  According to a statement from Catherine Engelbrecht of True The Vote, the AJC received their copy first and published it before True The Vote received its own.

In that letter, the GBI doxed two of the investigators that were working for True The Vote on the geospatial research.  This meeting was approximately one year before the release of 2000Mules and before the investigative team was publicly known.

In that letter, Reynolds said, “…it has been stated that there is ‘a source’ that can validate ballot harvesting.  Despite repeated requests that source has not been provided to either the GBI or to the FBI.”

According to reporting from Badlands Media, Engelbrecht said in a statement that the roles were actually reversed: True The Vote “made repeated attempts to re-engage with the GBI” following their one and only meeting in May.

From Badlands Media:

Vic Reynold’s description of what happened with the investigation is untrue. We met once with Vic Reynolds and his team in the Governor’s office in early 2021, where we walked them through our initial findings. After that meeting, we made repeated attempts to re-engage with the GBI and never received a response.

The FBI offered to assist by hosting a secure database so the GBI and other law enforcement agencies could access the information and preserve chain of custody across the states involved. They were clear, however, that they were not conducting an investigation and did not collect evidence. Given what followed, it’s unclear there was ever a genuine effort on their part.

The next time Mr. Reynolds surfaced was when a letter he wrote and addressed to us appeared in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. We did not receive the letter at the time it was published; when we later did, we responded directly to the Governor.

The suggestion that this stalled because we failed to provide an informant’s name simply isn’t accurate. We were shut out early, and as public pressure mounted, the focus shifted to blaming us rather than examining the evidence. At no point was there a serious effort to ask the kinds of questions a real investigation requires.

This sworn testimony by a former U.S. Senator raises deeper questions about what information was used to indict a former President and front-runner for the GOP in an unprecedented RICO case for challenging election results.

Was an investigation actually stopped by the chief executive of the State of Georgia?  And if so, was failing to disclose that information, an investigation that was thwarted despite “compelling” evidence, a Brady violation or prosecutorial misconduct by the special prosecutors on Fani Willis’s team?

With the protective order finally lifted, more questions will likely arise as the Department of Justice and the FBI begin their investigation in Fulton County’s 2020 election.
