Mandelson is under heavy fire for his close ties to Epstein.
The Metropolitan Police in London has launched a criminal investigation into allegations that disgraced former British Ambassador to the US, Lord Peter Mandelson, passed ‘market-sensitive information’ to Jeffrey Epstein.

This comes as the disgraced Labour peer has been forced to resign from the House of Lords.

Daily Mail reported:
“Files released by the US Department of Justice apparently showed Lord Mandelson giving material to the pedophile financier while serving as business secretary in Gordon Brown’s Labour administration as it dealt with the 2008 financial crash and its aftermath.
The Cabinet Office had passed material to the police after an initial review of documents released as part of the so-called Epstein files found they contained ‘likely market-sensitive information’ and official handling safeguards had been ‘compromised’.”

“Commander Ella Marriott, of the Metropolitan Police, said: ‘Following the further release of millions of court documents in relation to Jeffrey Epstein by the United States Department of Justice, the Met received a number of reports into alleged misconduct in public office including a referral from the UK Government.
‘I can confirm that the Metropolitan Police has now launched an investigation into a 72-year-old man, a former Government Minister, for misconduct in public office offences. The Met will continue to assess all relevant information brought to our attention as part of this investigation and won’t be commenting any further at this time’.”
So now there’s proof Peter Mandelson emailed Epstein with an early heads up of:
1) Gordon Brown’s resignation
2) the €500 billion bailout to save the Euro in 2010.
Both before the public knew.
This is open and shut stuff.

Former British PM Gordon Brown has entered the fray, questioning why the government failed to fully investigate Mandelson last autumn.
‘Why now, why didn’t you say anything before?
“If you’ve got incriminating evidence it means you’ve had it for the best part of 14, 15, maybe 20 years.”

The Telegraph reported:
“Mr. Brown appeared to question why Sir Chris Wormald, the Cabinet Secretary, had not launched a fuller investigation in September.”
Brown, the former prime minister, gave ‘relevant’ information to the police, and accused Lord Mandelson of an ‘inexcusable and unpatriotic act’.
“Emails between Epstein and Lord Mandelson included government plans for a multibillion-pound EU bailout, Mr. Brown’s resignation and the potential sale of government land and property.
Other files released by the US department of justice showed that Lord Mandelson’s husband was paid $4,000 a month by Epstein through a standing order set up while the peer was deputy prime minister.
They also showed emails between the two men discussing undermining Mr. Brown and then-chancellor Alistair Darling in the run-up to the 2010 general election.”
‘The PM admitted he knew about the Epstein links and still gave Mandelson the job!’
