British Political Commentator Who Celebrated Oct. 7 Terror Attack Detained in the US, Visa Revoked, In ICE Custody Pending Removal

Following the Oct. 7 Hamas terrorist attacks in Israel, British political commentator Sami Hamdi openly celebrated the murder of civilians.

In a video shared by MEMRI, Hamdi, speaking at London Mosque, said to “celebrate” the victory and described the “euphoria” many felt when they got the news.

“We are pitying a people who brought a huge victory since 1948. Don’t pity them – they don’t want your pity – celebrate the victory. Allah has shown the world that no normalization can erase the Palestinian cause. When everybody thought it was finished, it is roaring.”

“How many of you felt it in your hearts when you got the news that it happened? How many of you felt the euphoria? Allah Akbar! How many of you felt it? Why did you feel it? Because the despair vanished, and you said [to yourself:] This nation is alive.”

According to the Council for American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), Hamdi arrived at San Francisco International Airport on Sunday to begin a speaking tour, where he was taken into custody.

The Department of Homeland Security confirmed that his “visa was revoked and he is in ICE custody pending removal.”

and the men and women of law enforcement, this individual’s visa was revoked and he is in ICE custody pending removal.”

“Under President Trump, those who support terrorism and undermine American national security will not be allowed to work or visit this country.”

RAIR notes, “Sami Hamdi — a foreign national who repeatedly used U.S. stages to legitimize and normalize extremist networks — has reportedly been detained by ICE at San Francisco and is slated for deportation. This is a major victory for public safety and accountability.”

CAIR defines itself as a Muslim civil rights organization and advocacy group.

In 2008, the FBI ruled CAIR an unindicted co-conspirator in the terror-finance trial against the Holy Land Foundation and its former officials.

In recent years, CAIR has been a leading voice in censoring and banning conservative voices on social media.

In the months following Oct. 7, CAIR’s Executive Director Nihad Awad cheered the slaughter of 1,300 Jews in southern Israel by Hamas.
