CNN Quietly Removes Reference To “Woman” From Its Article About Nashville School Shooter Who Reportedly Identified As Transgender

On Monday, CNN removed any reference to gender from their original article about the suspected Nashville school shooter, following confirmation from authorities that the suspect is a transgender individual. Initially, CNN had titled their piece as “28-year-old woman kills 3 students and 3 adults at private Christian school in Nashville, police say.”

The alleged perpetrator, Audrey Hale, was biologically female but identified as a transgender individual and used male pronouns on social media profiles. Hale entered a Christian school in Nashville and reportedly shot and killed three students and three staff members before being shot by police.
