According to Campus Reform, โThe U.S. Coast Guard Academy has disbanded its Office of Culture and Climate (OCC).โ
In January, The Gateway Pundit reported that President Trump signed executive orders to root leftist ideology out of the military and prioritize lethality.
On January 27, the president signed four executive orders focused on the military, including the โRestoring Americaโs Fighting Forceโ executive order and the โPrioritizing Military Excellence and Readinessโ executive order.
These orders direct every element of the U.S. military to โoperate free from any preference based on race or sexโ and root out gender insanity and made-up pronoun usage, respectively.
While the U.S. Naval Academy continues to face legal challenges over race-conscious admissions policies, The Gateway Pundit reported that USNA also announced the closure of the institutionโs DEI offices to fall in line with President Donald Trumpโs Executive Orders.
Prior to this upheaval, woke programs were coming out of the OCC, and like other aspects of the military, their mission was diluted.
Previously, a commandant at the Coast Guard argued, โDiversity was definitely not there when I entered into the service. . . .The reason itโs critical is because diverse work teams outperform homogenous teams. Theyโre just stronger, more resilient, have better perspective and deeper strength of thought.โ
Key members of Trumpโs adminstation assert that this is false and what is needed is skill and cohesion. Race shouldnโt be a factor, and making race and religion factors is un-American.
Eventually, according to Campus Reform, this commandant was fired, with officials citing her excessive promotion of DEI.
The job of the military needs to be a fighting force thatโs strong and unified not one that is as diverse as possible.
Government agencies and organizations should be focused on efficiency, and President Trump and his team have made great strides in making that possible.
In fact, as Campus Reform pointed out, โIn October 2023, the nonprofit Students for Fair Admissions (SFFA) sued the Academy, arguing that its โrace-conscious admissions practice violates the Fifth Amendmentโs equal protection principles.โ
Between The Supreme Court striking down Affirmative Action and President Trumpโs executive orders the tide is turning and the days of DEI and race-based government and military policies are over.
