Sarah Silverman has finally learned a lesson that many of her Hollywood colleagues are still struggling with.
The far-left comedian said in an interview with The Minnesota Tribune that people simply aren’t interested in hearing the political views of celebrities such as herself.
After having this realization, Silverman decided that she would step back from politics and not go out all campaigning for Kamala Harris.
“I was on the road with this tour, for one thing,” she explained. “A lot of people asked me if I was going to make a video or something. But my feeling was that no one wanted to hear from celebrities right now.”
“Maybe I was wrong,” she continued. “I just focused on reposting thoughts from smarter people.”
“There is one thing I wish I had done. In 2008, I did something called the Great Schlep where I told young Jews to tell their grandparents they wouldn’t visit them again unless they voted for Obama.”
“I should have done something like that again,” she added. “Not that it would have made a difference.”
Unlike Silverman, countless celebrities, including Oprah Winfrey, Julia Roberts, Bruce Springsteen, Beyonce, Katy Perry, and Eminem, all came out publicly for Kamala Harris, even appearing at campaign events to help turn out the vote and boost enthusiasm.
Despite their valiant efforts, Americans were left unimpressed and delivered Donald Trump a landslide victory against his Democratic opponent.
Silverman, meanwhile, has traditionally been among the Hollywood A-listers banging the drum for Democratic causes.
However, even she has had her moments of lucidity.
Following the October 7th terrorist attacks, the 54-year-old criticized those describing Israel's response as "inhumane" and said she was more concerned for the lives of the hostages.
Yet after a backlash from her left-wing followers, Silverman apologized for the comments, saying that she wrote them in a "stoned fury of wondering where the hostages are in all this madness."
Oh fuck yeah I took that down I put it in stories from someone, realized it was a mistake to post in the stoned fury of wondering where the hostages are in all this madness. NASA gave Sally Ride 100 tampons.
