The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), working hand-in-glove with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Border Patrol, launched Operation Midway Blitz in Chicago, resulting in hundreds of arrests of illegal aliens, including at least one Polish national with an INTERPOL Red Notice for organized crime and drug trafficking in his home country.
DHS launched Operation Midway Blitz in honor of Katie Abraham, who was tragically killed in a drunk-driving hit-and-run crash caused by criminal illegal alien Julio Cucul-Bol in Illinois.
Over 3,000 individuals were arrested in a coordinated crackdown targeting violent crime and drug offenses in the past two months in Indiana and the Chicago area.
Despite the seriousness of the arrests, Chicago Tribune reporter Jason Meisner attempted to downplay the operation, mocking the agents on X:
“Border Patrol Cmdr. Greg Bovino leading the charge against an invading platoon of landscapers in Wilmette on Halloween today. One thing we can all agree on: that block looks like hell on Earth.”

Commander Gregory K. Bovino, who led the operation, fired back directly:
“One of the 3 Polish illegal aliens apprehended yesterday had an INTERPOL Red Notice for leading organized crime and drug trafficking in Poland. Want him doing work in your house or a lawful American at a living wage?”
