Fact Checkers On High Alert: Biden’s Grandfather Dubious Claim [VIDEO]

As a public figure, President Joe Biden is no stranger to criticism regarding his public statements and actions. His detractors often label him as a “serial liar” due to his tendency to make awkward flubs, exaggerate stories, and stretch the truth.

In this particular instance, Biden recounted an anecdote at the North American Building Trades Unions conference yesterday, in which he claimed that his grandfather died in the same hospital where he was born 2 weeks later.

However, fact-checkers quickly pointed out that this story is untrue, as Biden’s grandfather passed away a year before his birth.

This is not the first time that President Biden has made false statements about his family members, such as claiming to have attempted to present his deceased uncle Frank with a Purple Heart medal.

Beyond these individual incidents, there have also been concerns raised about Biden’s mental state, with some interpreting his frequent flubs and odd mannerisms as indicative of a potential cognitive decline. It’s important to note that this type of speculation can be harmful and stigmatizing and should be approached with caution. However, given the demands of the presidency and the scrutiny that comes with it, it’s not uncommon for presidents to face questions about their cognitive abilities.

It remains to be seen how Biden’s gaffes and false statements will impact his presidency and his re-election prospects. As of this writing, he has announced his plans to run for a second term, despite criticism from some quarters that his presidency has been “calamitous and failed.” Regardless of the outcome, it’s clear that the president will continue to be under close scrutiny, and that his words and actions will be parsed carefully by both his supporters and his detractors.
