Breitbart News highlighted that Vance was named Trump’s running mate on the convention’s first day, marking a significant milestone. Vance, as Breitbart News’ Washington Bureau Chief Matthew Boyle noted, will be the first Marine and the first millennial on a major party’s presidential ticket.
The third day’s overarching theme will call for an overhaul of U.S. foreign policy. The Republican platform includes increased domestic energy production to reduce reliance on foreign fuel, restoring peace in Europe, and boosting military spending.
Tuesday’s events showcased a united front among Republicans, with Donald Trump receiving applause from former rivals, contrasting sharply with the divisions within the Democratic Party. Nikki Haley, former U.N. ambassador and Trump’s final challenger in the GOP primary, addressed her supporters, emphasizing unity.
“You don’t have to agree with Trump 100% of the time to vote for him,” Haley asserted, facing a mix of cheers and boos.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, once a primary rival, also took the stage, stressing his renewed alliance with Trump. “Donald Trump has been demonized, sued, prosecuted, and nearly lost his life,” DeSantis declared. “We cannot let him down. And we cannot let America down.”
