Kevin McCarthy And #MAGA Republicans Support Trump Before Probable Indictment.

On Saturday, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy of California and several MAGA Republicans stood in support of Donald Trump as he awaits potential indictment by a Manhattan grand jury. On Tuesday morning, Trump predicted his arrest on his social media platform, Truth Social and encouraged supporters to protest, citing “illegal leaks.”

Hours later, however, a Trump spokesperson clarified that this post had been shared without knowledge of an indictment. Rep. McCarthy recently tweeted

Former Vice President Mike Pence, who is considering running for president in 2024, expressed outrage at the impending indictment. Elise Stefanik of New York, the House’s third-ranking Republican, labeled Trump’s potential arrest “unAmerican” and said Democrats had reached “a dangerous new low.” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) downplayed the Manhattan district attorney’s case at a conservative forum by saying prosecutors are “afraid” of Trump.

Arizona Rep. Andy Biggs declared that virtually every campaign finance violation involves either spending other people’s money or illegally taking money into your campaign. Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz tweeted:

that Trump used his own funds to settle a private dispute with an associate of his. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia described these claims against Trump as “fake” and “outdated,” while House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) wrote that “Real America understands this is all a sham.”
