The Oscar-winning actor and Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman Jared is facing accusations from women who say he pursued them sexually when they were still teenagers.
The singer and actor, who is known for his left-wing activism and support for the Democratic Party, is facing claims of manipulative and sexually inappropriate behaviour dating back over a decade.
According to an investigation by Air Mail, nine women have come forward with serious claims.
One woman, who was 16 at the time, said Leto approached her outside a Los Angeles café in 2006.
Sitting with then-19-year-old Ashley Olsen, Leto reportedly took the girl’s number, called her late at night, and invited her to parties at his home.
She alleged the calls often became sexual, with Leto allegedly asking explicit questions about her sexual experience despite her being a minor.

Another woman, Laura La Rue, a model, recalled meeting Leto when she was 16 in 2008.
She said he asked her age directly, learned she was a teenager and requested that she give him her number.

Their communication led to her visiting his home the following year.
She described Leto’s behaviour as “a game,” teasing and toying with her while knowing her age.
She also alleged that during a later visit, he walked out naked in front of her when she was still 17.
Other claims are more graphic. One woman says Leto exposed himself and forced her to touch his penis when she was 18.
Another, DJ Allie Teilz, accused Leto of trying to assault her when she was 17, a story she posted about on social media in 2012 and has since reaffirmed.
Leto’s spokesperson has issued a blanket denial of all the accusations, calling some “demonstrably false.”
“Their communications contain nothing sexual or inappropriate,” the spokesperson said.
“Ms La Rue later applied to work as Mr Leto’s personal assistant, further underscoring the absence of anything inappropriate in any of their interactions,” they added.
