One can always count on Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) to humiliate himself even as he tries to dunk all over his adversaries.
On Friday, Raskin took part in a rally alongside other leftist luminaries such as woke global warming alarmist Bill Nye โThe Science Guy,โ former National Institutes of Health Director Francis Collins, and Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-MD). According to The Hill, The attendees were there to protest President Trumpโs cuts in government spending, particularly in funding for research institutions.
During the rally, Raskin raised eyebrows by using the opportunity to troll Republicans over DEI with this nasty and cringeworthy shot:
โYou know, I noticed that the Speakerโs Chief of Staff was picked up on DUI the other night,โ Raskin said. โTheyโre not into DEI, but they love DUI. We gotta stop those DUI hires on Capitol Hill.โ
WATCH:
JUST IN: Congressman Jamie Raskin (D-MD) just tried to own Republicans on DEI with an epic comeback.
How did he do?

For context, media reports on Wednesday revealed that House Speaker Mike Johnsonโs chief of staff, Hayden Haynes, was arrested shortly after President Donald Trumpโs speech to Congress on a DUI charge. When asked to confirm the report, U.S. Capitol Police replied that an unnamed driver had backed into a parked vehicle near the Capitol around 11:40 p.m. and was taken into custody.
Johnsonโs spokesperson, Taylor Haulsee, released the following statement in response to the incident.
The Speaker is aware of the encounter that occurred last night involving his Chief of Staff and the Capitol Police. The Speaker has known and worked closely with Hayden for nearly a decade and trusted him to serve as his Chief of Staff for his entire tenure in Congress. Because of this and Haydenโs esteemed reputation among Members and staff alike, the Speaker has full faith and confidence in Haydenโs ability to lead the Speakerโs office.
Raskinโs attempted dunk unsurprisingly blew up in his face, with many social media users reminding him of the Democratsโ own issues with driving under the influence. This includes the partyโs last VP candidate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
Yeah cause none of you dems have ever had a duiโฆ.or come into congress drunkโฆor done worse stuff like sex scandals that you paid off with hush money. Best to clean up your act first.

Why isnโt he charged for destroying evidence from J6 Committee?
All J6 Committee should be in jail. They lied and had network come in and create a video to fit their narrative.
It was all setup.

In his mind, it probably sounded good. Raskin comes off like a cringy college freshman trying way too hard to be witty. Deflecting from the absolute disaster of DEI hiring with a lame DUI joke? Pathetic. This is the best the Democrats have?
