Barack Obama’s recent campaign rally in Norfolk, Virginia, proved one thing beyond doubt: the Democrat Party has abandoned accountability.
The former president, once viewed as a voice of reason within his party, joined forces with Jay Jones, a disgraced candidate for Virginia attorney general who was exposed in a scandal that should have ended his political career.
Jones, a former state delegate, was caught sending violent text messages threatening to kill his Republican opponent, Speaker Todd Gilbert, and describing horrific acts toward Gilbert’s family.

The messages included phrases like “two bullets to the head” and cruel wishes involving his opponent’s children.
Even after apologizing, Jones refused to withdraw from the race. Despite the outcry, Obama appeared alongside him, offering what amounts to a moral pardon.
Obama’s decision to campaign for Jones follows public support from Senator Cory Booker, who earlier praised Jones as a “rising star.”
Together, their endorsements signal that the Democrat establishment is willing to overlook threats of violence when the offender belongs to their side.
Principles no longer guide the Democrat Party—it is driven solely by a thirst for power.
Democrats claim to champion “decency” and “integrity.” Yet, when one of their own openly fantasizes about killing a political opponent, the same leaders who call for unity look the other way.
If the roles were reversed—if a Republican candidate had made similar remarks—the national press would demand immediate resignation, cancellation, and perhaps prosecution.
Instead, the party’s most recognizable figures are smiling on stage with him.
This pattern isn’t isolated. Obama’s rally also doubled as an endorsement event for other far-left candidates in Virginia and New Jersey—both running on radical economic and cultural platforms.
From backing defund-the-police advocates to supporting abortion-on-demand and anti-parental-rights agendas in schools, Obama’s involvement marks the mainstreaming of extremism within the Democrat Party.
The Democrat leadership is sending a clear message: outrage and consequences are selective.
