PLAYBOY Takes On ONLYFANS As Old Mag Relaunches…

TRUTH PUKES TAKE: Playboy is launching its “creator platform” as a “safe,” “exclusive,” and “elevated” alternative to OnlyFans. Instead of “bunnies,” Playboy will have “creators” who post both adult and non-adult content on their pages, give subscribers exclusive access to their lives, and appear on the online covers of the magazine. Playboy’s first-ever “digital cover” shows model Amanda Cerny, who has made more than $1 million as a Playboy creator using the beta version of the platform, “Centerfold.” The video player is currently playing an ad. Playboy told The Post that it is getting rid of the name “Centerfold” and instead, the platform will be built into the Playboy itself. Rachel Webber, the company’s chief brand officer, said, “Our Playboy creator platform is the Playboy magazine of the 21st century.” The big difference between OnlyFans and Playboy is that while anyone can become an OnlyFans creator, Playboy’s creators have to apply and be accepted by its editorial team.

Playboy’s “creator platform” is similar to OnlyFans in that it lets models find paying subscribers. Cover model Amanda Cerny has already made $1 million as a content creator, and the new digital magazine will feature essays from creators and stories about what it’s like to work at Playboy. Ben Kohn, the CEO of Playboy, hopes the creator platform will shake up the creator economy the same way Playboy magazine shook up the publishing industry almost 70 years ago.
