The royal family drama continues as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to skip Charles III’s coronation next month. The reason? Their children weren’t invited, and the palace denied their request to sing “Happy Birthday” to their son Archie from the royal balcony on the same day. Talk about a birthday bummer!
The coronation, set to take place on May 6 in Westminster Abbey, will proceed without the Sussexes in attendance. In March, it was revealed that Archie and Lilibet wouldn’t be attending the event either.
According to royal commentator Angela Levin, Harry and Meghan insisted on standing on the balcony with the royal family during the coronation and belting out the birthday tune to Archie. Sadly, neither demand was granted, resulting in the couple’s decision to skip the event altogether.
It’s no secret that Harry and Meghan have had their fair share of troubles with the royal family, culminating in their departure from the UK in 2020 amidst press controversies and rumored conflicts within the family. Their explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021 further added fuel to the fire, as the couple accused the royals of indifference, lack of support, and racism. And let’s not forget Prince Harry’s memoir, “Spare,” published earlier this year, which provided even more juicy details about his life and relationships with his relatives.
Looks like the drama won’t be dying down anytime soon!
