On Tuesday, Rep. Keith Self took to X to pull the rug out from under The New York Times.
In a post on X that has now gone viral, Rep. Self shared an email he received from the NYT opinion desk. He stated, “A ridiculous email I received from the discredited @NYTimes…traps are being laid against President Trump as we speak. Are they trying to justify a living Constitution that changes depending on who is in the White House? Or are they recruiting another Liz Cheney?”

The New York Times’ email was sent to all members of the 119th Congress, soliciting their responses to three questions centered around “the modern nuclear era” and presidential authority regarding the nuclear button—the sole responsibility of the Commander-in-Chief, regardless of who is in office.
Rep. Self immediately recognized that the NYT’s request for a “sense of Congress’s views” on “this unilateral authority” was nothing more than a Deep State hit job intended to undermine President Trump’s authority before he even takes office.
“Our men and women, who God forbid, may be ordered to execute future nuclear launches take their instructions from a single man—the President,” said Rep. Self. “The name of that President is irrelevant. The elected President, whether Republican or Democrat, alone carries this responsibility, with the full knowledge and understanding of the voters who placed them in office.”
In a separate post on X, Self pointed out that The New York Times has not demonstrated the same level of interest in President Biden’s nuclear authority, even though he is clearly battling cognitive challenges.
Also, has the failing @NYTimes showed any concern for Joe Biden having the nuclear football right now ? https://t.co/7it7EGc118

X users continue to express their outrage over the ridiculous questionnaire.
Wow you really can’t hate the MSM enough. I am sure they are just fine with Biden who is absolutely not competent to be in office however they are okay with him doing something like this. @dbongino

Yet, the New York Times is happy with senile Joe wielding the same power. This is why legacy media is done.

They’re irrelevant. No need to keep responding to their nonsense. This is the way. Post it all on X so the people can see how the media operates.

If the MSM and Dems have no concern about Joe Biden having the nuclear code; They shouldn’t worry about Trump. But since they are politically biased for Democrats; they are only concerned about it with Trump.

“The American people are now keenly aware of how the liberal media operates,” said Rep. Self. “Outlets that peddle Deep State hoaxes and DNC propaganda deserve to be exposed and excoriated. President Trump, I’ve got your back.”
