Critics of Anthony Fauci’s tenure as director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases might breathe a sigh of relief Wednesday as the senate’s expected confirmation of Dr. Jay Bhattacharya may bring an end to the regime of absurd—and far too often cruel—animal testing sponsored by the National Institutes of Health.
Bhattacharya is a prominent professor of medicine at Stanford University, specializing in health policy and infectious disease epidemiology, and more than qualified for the job.
During the COVID pandemic, Bhattacharya gained the ire of the left for arguing against lockdowns for healthy individuals.
Should Bhattacharya be confirmed, he would do well to read White Coat Waste’s most recent expose on NIH’s in-house dog lab — and end it.
The investigation exposes the NIH’s brutal septic shock experiments on beagles, which have been ongoing for over 40 years.
Beagles are a favorite for the most cruel and painful animal testing due to their docile and forgiving nature.
These newly exposed experiments involve injecting pneumonia-causing bacteria into the dogs, inducing septic shock, and observing their suffering until they die, often within four days.
Since 1986, over 2,100 dogs have been killed in these experiments.
WCW’s investigation uncovered these details through lawsuits and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, revealing the purchase of beagles from notorious puppy mills like Envigo and Marshall BioResources. Despite ongoing efforts, including lobbying and public campaigns, this remains the NIH’s last confirmed dog testing lab, wasting millions of taxpayer dollars.
As Gateway Pundit recently reported, President Donald Trump and Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is taking action to de-fund animal tests in China.
Last week, Musk and Joe Rogan discussed WCW’s investigations of NIH funding for transgender animal experiments and Fauci’s beagle tests—a story Gateway Pundit first broke in 2021—as egregious examples of government waste. Musk commented that these taxpayer-funded labs are "mutilating animals in demented studies that are like the worst thing you can imagine from a horror show.”
