The Fayette County Sheriffโs Office in Texas has arrested suspected human smugglers who attempted to hide illegal aliens inside modified hay bales.
Fayette County deputies earlier in the week conducted a routine traffic stop of a pickup pulling a hay trailer in Flatonia, Texas.
After noticing something was off about the hay bales, officers searched and discovered that the bales were hollowed out and contained 12 people in dangerously tight spaces.
The accused smugglers were identified as Adanaylo Lambert, 22, and Lency Delgado Fernandez, 25, who now face federal and state human smuggling charges.
The Fayette County Sheriffโs Office stated, โThis method of concealment is not only deceptive but incredibly dangerous to human life.โ
โSmugglers continue to use increasingly creative and hazardous techniques to transport individuals across Texas highways,โ added the office

Per Fox News:
Suspected human smugglers were arrested this week while allegedly attempting to hide migrants inside modified hay bales, officials said.
Deputies conducting a routine traffic stop on a pickup pulling a hay trailer Tuesday near Flatonia, Texas, noticed that the bales inside the trailer had been hollowed out to create compartments, the Fayette County Sheriffโs Office said.
After looking more closely, the deputies noticed there were people inside the bales in โdangerously confined spacesโ below a metal framework and layers of hay.
โThis method of concealment is not only deceptive but incredibly dangerous to human life,โ the sheriffโs office said in a release. โSmugglers continue to use increasingly creative and hazardous techniques to transport individuals across Texas highways.โ
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said deputies did a closer inspection after reaching out to the Border Patrolโs Sector Intelligence Unit for assistance when inconsistencies emerged as they questioned the driver and passengers of the pickup.
