Tiger Woods Faces $30 Million Sexual Harassment Lawsuit From Ex-Girlfriend

A new chapter in the ongoing saga of pro golfer Tiger Woods has unfolded as his ex-girlfriend Erica Herman filed a lawsuit against him for sexual harassment. According to the documents filed by her attorney, Woods allegedly pursued Herman sexually while she was working at his restaurant, The Woods Jupiter, and then coerced her into signing a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) to keep their relationship a secret. Herman is now seeking $30 million in damages.

Herman’s lawyer, Benjamin Hobas, stated that Woods imposed the NDA on her as a condition of her employment, which amounts to sexual harassment. Additionally, when Woods became unhappy with their relationship, he reportedly tricked her into leaving her home, took her cash, pets, and personal belongings, and attempted to force her to sign a different NDA. These actions have been called into question and are being investigated as part of the lawsuit.

The lawsuit was initially filed in October through the trust that manages Woods’ residence after their breakup. Herman alleged that Woods had agreed to let her stay at the house for five more years but then violated their agreement by forcing her to leave. Woods responded by insisting that any disputes between them be handled through confidential arbitration, citing the NDA he made Herman sign at the restaurant. He dismissed Herman as a “jilted ex-girlfriend who wants to publicly litigate specious claims in court.”

However, Herman filed a second lawsuit in March citing a new federal law that could annul NDAs if a “sexual harassment dispute” was present and demanding to be released from hers. Friday’s filing detailed how Woods allegedly told Herman to pack for a last-minute weekend getaway to the Bahamas in October and even had her driven to the airport, where she was confronted by Woods’ attorney, who informed her she was never seeing Woods or their house again. She was locked out of the house, and according to the filing, was unable to see her pets or children again. The lawyer then allegedly insulted Herman, told her she had no legal rights, and attempted to force her to sign a different NDA. This time, she refused to sign.

It is important to note that sexual harassment in the workplace is a serious issue and can cause lasting emotional and psychological harm to those affected. While the details of this case are still being investigated, it serves as a reminder of the importance of creating safe and respectful work environments for all employees.
