Tucker Carlson Launches New Show On Twitter

The abrupt departure of former Fox News host Tucker Carlson from the airwaves last month has raised questions about his future in media. Carlson recently announced that he will be launching a new show on Twitter, but with few details provided, speculation has been rampant as to what form the show will take.

In his announcement video on Twitter, Carlson blasted the media, claiming that “the news that you consume is a lie” and accusing it of withholding facts, proportion, and perspective to manipulate viewers.

This move comes amid reports that Carlson has received multiple high-priced offers from other conservative outlets and has even been in discussions with Twitter CEO Elon Musk. However, Carlson’s Fox News contract contains a non-compete clause that theoretically prevents him from starting a new show until his contract ends in January 2025.

In response, Carlson’s lawyers have reportedly sent a letter to Fox alleging that the company breached his contract, which would void the non-compete clause. The letter accuses Fox executives, including Rupert Murdoch, of breaking promises made to Carlson and of leaking his private communications to the media.

Despite the legal wrangling, Carlson remains defiant and critical of the media, using his Twitter announcement to denounce what he sees as the manipulation of facts and the withholding of information for propaganda purposes.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Tucker Carlson, but his Twitter show could potentially shake up the media landscape and provide a new platform for conservative voices. With Twitter’s recent move to allow videos up to 60 minutes in length and 2GB in size, it will be interesting to see how Carlson and his team will utilize this feature for their new show.
