War Room’s Steve Bannon and GOP strategist Alex DeGrasse discussed the importance of redistricting to help gain more seats for the Republican Party. They explained that the Democrat party has used it to their advantage for years and that Republicans can also apply it in Red States.
“We got 21 gross seats. This is not about the DEI, Supreme Court, you know, getting rid of the racial gerrymandering. These are ones just from the natural flow of in states itself,” Bannon said.
“There are 21, as you mapped out, gross seats, districts that we can pick up now by fair redistricting. We got five in Texas,” Bannon said.
Bannon explained that the Republicans look like they are losing the fight in California with the redistricting issue.
“California is about to get five back because California has been very inept,” Bannon said.
“It looks like they are going to get smoked on this, so let’s assume they pick up five,” Bannon warned.
“So, you have Democrats that are sitting there going no, we are going to actually gerrymander our states worse than they are gerrymandering now,” Bannon explained.
“It is absolutely essential that we win the redistricting wars now sir. Can you give us an update?” Bannon asked DeGrasse.
“We have seen just a massive, you call it, counter offensive of just sort of whether it be, like you said, Democrats moving to redistrict or put in process, the seats to be changed,” DeGrasse said.
“I think we have to kind of turn up the heat rhetorically of course, and really hammer these people,” DeGrasse said of Republicans needing to be proactive to redistrict.
Bannon explained that some Republicans are not taking the redistricting issue seriously and are being passive and not supporting the MAGA movement.
“We are in the middle of a political war, ok, and we have guys that are sitting there so smugly and so high and mighty,” Bannon said of weaker Republicans who aren’t taking this seriously.
“The Democrats don’t care. They are smashing us all over the place on this stuff,” DeGrasse said.
“We will not withstand what is coming in the next two years if we don’t make progress in the next couple of months,” DeGrasse warned.
