President Trump will deliver remarks tonight to members of Congress at the National Republican Congressional Committee fundraising dinner.
Trumpโs keynote speech at the dinner comes as Republicans vie to maintain control of the House and Senate in the critical 2026 midterm elections.
The dinner is reportedly expected to raise at least $10 million for the campaign arm of House Republicans.
Both parties are already mobilizing for the midterm elections next November, which will determine the fate of the Trump Administration and our country.
Per Fox:
Asked what concerns him the most when it comes to defending the House majority, NRCC chair Rep. Richard Hudson said in a Fox News Digital interview on Monday that โDemocrats have a structural advantage when it comes to fundraising. They always seem to have just mountains of money. So I think the amount of money the Democrats raise is probably the only thing that really concerns me.โ
Hudson, a North Carolina Republican and 12-year veteran of the House, said that โthe President understands that heโs got to keep the House majority in the midterm so that he has a four-year runway, instead of a two-year runway to get his agenda enacted.โ
And pointing to the House Democratic leader, Hudson added, โSpeaker Hakeem Jeffries would fight President Trump on every front, and it would be really difficult for him to achieve his agenda. President Trump understands itโs important to hold the House and heโs, heโs been extremely helpful to us and we appreciate it.โ
Hours before Trump was scheduled to attend the NRCC fundraiser, the House Democratsโ campaign arm took aim at nearly three dozen Republican-held seats in the chamber as they aim to win back the majority.
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) on Tuesday morning released its initial 2026 target list, which included 35 GOP-controlled seats, and launched an effort to fundraise for the partyโs eventual nominees in each of the districts.
During his speech tonight, the President will likely call on Congress members to pass laws that codify his agenda and executive orders and reinforce his current policies against activist judges and a potential Democratic majority in 2027.
During a press briefing earlier, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters that President Trump is โcounting onโ House Republicans to pass the Senate-approved budget.
