President Donald Trump, 78, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio both momentarily lost their footing while boarding Air Force One en route to Camp David on Sunday.
President Trump ascended the staircase at Morristown Municipal Airport, he caught his foot on one of the steps, causing a visible stumble โ though he swiftly regained composure and pressed on. Moments later, Rubio also appeared off-balance.
The Independent reported:
The stumble came after Trump gaggled with reporters in Hagerstown, Maryland, when he was asked if he would be willing to invoke the Insurrection Act in response to the protests against immigration raids in Los Angeles.
โDepends on whether or not thereโs an insurrection,โ said Trump.
A reporter asked if he believes there is an insurrection taking place.
โNo, no, but you have violent people,โ he added. โAnd weโre not going to let them get away with it.โ
Asked if he would deploy troops even without invoking the Insurrection Act, Trump said, โWeโre going to have troops everywhere. Weโre not going to let this happen to our country. Weโre not going to let our country be torn apart like it was under Biden.โ
