On Saturday night, President Donald Trump received a rockstar welcome when he attended the NCAA Wrestling Championships.
He entered the arena to rousing chants of โUSA! USA! USA!โ as the crowd roared their approval and excitement at having the Commander-in-Chief at the collegiate event.

The night was even more special for Oklahoma State Cowboys wrestler Wyatt Hendrickson.
Hendrickson scored a historic upset over Minnesotaโs Gable Steveson in the 285-pound division at the NCAA Wrestling Championships.
Following the victory, Hendrickson, a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force, pointed toward the president and saluted him. He then draped an American flag over his shoulders and made his way over to the President, who was pumping his fist in support.
The two men shook hands before embracing in a bear hug.

Hendrickson, who attended the U.S. Air Force Academy, is serving in the World Class Athlete Program (WCAP), which gave him an additional year of eligibility to wrestle.
For every year he is in WCAP, he will incur an additional year of service to the military in addition to his 5 year committment as an Air Force Academy graduate.
Henrickson spoke with ASAPSports:
Q. When did the idea for the American flag come and what did it mean to have that both at the beginning and at the end?
WYATT HENDRICKSON: From the very beginning, I think itโs more than wrestling. And I think trying to portray that and give the image of that is important.
And wrestling, weโre so honored that we live in a free country and we can come gather in these events and do what we love and be able to receive the support while weโre wrestling on that mat.
I just like to bring that energy into the arena that โ weโre all on one team at the at the end of the day. Obviously weโre going head to head in here. Iron sharpens at the end of the day. When we go to the Olympics, whatever we need to do, weโre all one team in the end.
